Mr. Bill Magennis

Bill has resided in Hanoi and practised as a foreign lawyer in major projects and M&A since 1992. Incentives in major foreign invested projects have been embodied in a contract called Government Guarantees and Undertaking (GGU) signed between the Government of Vietnam and investors. Bill co-authored the first of these with British Petroleum in 2001 for the Nam Con Son/Phu My 3 gas to power project. He has been acted in some capacity for Government, main investor, or joining investor in all of the subsequently financed and fully operational foreign invested projects that have GGUs and is involved with ongoing GGU issues in projects under negotiation.
