Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hien

Urban rail in Ho Chi Minh City is still at the early stage. The first two metro lines are now under construction. Another 8 lines are still in the pipeline with a total length of more than 200km. I am currently working for Ho Chi Minh City Metro (MAUR) and in charge of planning, feasibility studies and, particularly looking for investments of the remaining MRT lines. I got my PhD at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. My background and experience are mixed between academic and practical environment, stretching over more than 20 years, with wide ranging management expertise, both in Vietnam and foreign countries. Besides railway, I have also been involved in many transport planning projects in Ho Chi Minh City such as highway, tunnel or bridge.
